Hi, my name is Dave Herring and I started Herring Photography in 2017. I live in Plaistow, NH with my wife Kalila, our sons Davy and Luca, and our dogs Snickers and Chipwich. I have a dual background both as a pastor and as a financial analyst, but several years ago, I bought a camera to document our trip to the UK and I never anticipated how much that would change my life. As a lifelong fan of photography, I became obsessed with learning about how cameras work and how to capture the important and beautiful moments of life. Through the mentoring of friends, the countless hours of courses, and endless clicks of the shutter, this obsession has grown into Herring Photography.
I take a personal and documentary approach in making pictures. I believe that photography is all about relationships, whether between me and you, or you and those around you. I love not only building relationships, but documenting the natural connections that people have in a candid way. Like the photojournalists that I admire, I look for light, composition, and moment.
